Newhill FC is proud to support coaches Carl Toner and James Johnston as they take on Movember in aid of our U18 squad’s 2026 football development trip to Spain. This initiative brings together two important themes for our club: mental health awareness and opportunities for our young players to experience football at the highest level.
Movember is much more than growing a moustache – it’s a global campaign focused on men’s health, mental wellbeing and starting conversations that matter. For Carl, the challenge is also deeply personal. He takes part every year in memory of his father, who passed away from lung cancer in November 2018 and was a lifelong supporter of Newhill, never missing a chance to watch Carl or the current U18 players during their younger years. This year, Carl and James have decided to link their Movember efforts directly to something positive for the community: helping our young players represent the club abroad.
All funds raised will go towards reducing costs for players and families, supporting travel, accommodation and training sessions during the planned U18 trip to Valencia in 2026. It is an incredible opportunity for our squad to develop on and off the pitch, experience elite-level training conditions and represent Newhill FC internationally.
